  1. And here I was, reporting a serious accessibility issue in the Discourse web application, namely that I cannot access the profile button on an iOS device with VoiceOver, and one of the answers I got was very blunt, and very privileged.
    oh my god twitter doesn’t include alt text from images in their API

      Fortunately, below that was another person‘s reply clearly stating that they‘ll look into it and thanking me for the bug report. But when I first read this, it hurt. This blunt display of sighted privilege „defining“ what a bug is and what not, really hurt.

        To be clear, I know from past experience that the Discourse community is not a toxic environment like that in general. This person is not representative of that community, and the other reply below also made that very clear. That‘s why I didn‘t reply at all on the forum.
